A solid base and a lidded shade — which sounds ordinary until you see what the lid does. It's pierced rather than solid, so light comes up through the top as well as out the sides instead of stopping dead at the ceiling.
The lid lifts off; two of the photos show it tilted aside, which is how you change the bulb. The shade carries Lunfardo's RippleMesh texture, so Michelle glows evenly instead of showing you where the bulb is — the reading lamp you keep on after the book is closed.

Soft off-white, as shown unlit in the third photo. The warm amber in the other shots is the bulb, not the shade — a cool bulb gives you a much whiter light from the same lamp.
